An ugly "Portugee" baby makes for a homely, creepy adult ...
One who MIGHT even eventually "get into" that evil, heathen, demon rock-and-roll ...
YIKES !
Where might THAT lead ...???

Band Lineups (musicians) and retrospective reflections

DEDICATION: Many thanks to my grandmother, Rose Tavers, who was always
very supportive of my musical endeavors, who always treated
my friends and bandmates like family and best friends, and
who always somehow seemed to know how to make the day go a
little easier and to make life seem a little brighter. We
will forever remember her kindness and her spunk.

Select the roses to read the Eulogy I wrote about this
wonderful woman during our family's mourning of her passing ...

As far as to those who have always tried to be discouraging killjoys:

go rot in the Hell of the Christians. It's the only place
fitting - perhaps - for your jealous, uncompromising,
misunderstanding, tunnelvisioned, selfish asses.

I'd rather be HATED for what I AM, than "LOVED" for what I'm NOT...
So, there ...
.

And while I'm "at it ..."
Ever notice that "some people" have to be constantly "reminded"
that it's a FREE COUNTRY ...? This especially "amazes" me after our
nation's "911" incident - that some people still have nothing better to do,
it seems, than to judge everyone else and try to supervise their lives -
dictate how they "can" or "can't" live their lives, how they
"should" or "shouldn't" be doing things ...  etc.

Seems to me that my observation has been that these "certain people"
are good at ONE THING - and ONE THING ONLY:
doing their best to try and make everyone else's life SUCK.

Guess that PAXIL must be working, eh?
Now I feel like telling them ALL off !!!

Special shouts to Marsha Godfrey, David Higgins, and Walter Godfrey
for having the unlimited patience to initially teach me
how to play the keyboards. I could never thank you enough
for introducing me to a whole other world - an escape which
I never would have known, had I never learned to play music.
Also: The following events are all true. They're presented as
memorabilia of times gone by and in a lighthearted way.
No one should be offended by them. If anyone is, lighten up.

For the sake of tact, most of the "sexual exploits" have been
omitted, as have the "finer details" of our various travels
within and without the realms of heaven and hell...

In any case, we were all once "children..." and most of it
            is "ancient history" now ...

TimelineJFK had been murdered less than a year before ...
People were just starting to know who "The Beatles" were ...

Things I remember:  almost all of it, actually ...
"She Loves You"  and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" on the radio. At the time, my father was quite the singer and he liked operatic stuff - like Caruso and Mario Lanza. I had records from my aunts and others, too - stuff like Leslie Gore ... I really didn't know what to make of The Beatles at first - probably for those reasons. We moved to Taunton (really almost in Easton and Raynham) in August of 1965. We made fast and best friends with the Dodenhoffs, who lived next door - and it was really them who I remember mostly introducing me to the music of The Beatles, The Animals - all the really trend setting earlier PROGRESSIVE British bands.

Again - I'm forever indebted ...

Just a little side note:  Their parents STILL DO live next door to my father, and I am still in touch with several of the Dodenhoffs today.

(UPDATE 10/11/2004: Sadly, Mr. Dodenhoff passed away a couple of
years ago, after a long illness).
