August 2000 to January 2001

So - Shaun lived in the next town over from me, but we'd never met. Maybe a few years after we'd played together for a short while, he mentioned a time we'd played - jammed, actually - a rendition of Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4." Instantly, I was transported to that particular practice, and could vividly recall that - yes - it was one of those moments in time which we have now and then - which just seemed so "right."

The first time I met Shaun - we actually got together and jammed over here - I knew that I was hearing a guitarist well beyond - despite his youth - most "good" guitarists. We each played some things for one another. It's getting to be a while ago now, as I write this - in Sept 2005 - that I do remember playing something by Styx, but not really a lot of details of too much else right now... I do remember that, thought - because I remember specifically deciding that it would be something I'd play because he had mentioned he liked piano.

But I'll tell you what I won't ever forget.

Shaun played electric for a while, and it sounded - well, really friggin' great. actually. So then he takes out this acoustic - and I think it may have been a 12-string, but I'm not positive now - but, anyhow - he starts playing Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song." Now you KNOW I grew up on that shit, and I'll tell you - if I had closed my eyes, I would've sworn that Jimmy Page was in my living room.

So, we all know what that means ...

From evening number one - really, from minute 5 or 10 or maybe 15 - BEFORE he even picked up the acoustic - I already KNEW that he was going places. And I usually pick these things. Correctly, most of the time. For a long time now...  So, yes - I knew alright. And look at him - just in the few years beyond his teens, he's already played with an extremely popular band on the west coast, he's won more contests and awards, he's toured with an intertnationally famous band, he's now again writing and recording and planning more future performances with his new band.

Yep.

So, yeah - even after the short time that we did play music together - we hated to see him go.
But, knowing what I knew, even if it were within my style to try and brainwash someone to stay, and even if they were not perceptive enough to realize that - neither were/ are the case - it would've been one of the most selfish things that someone could ever do.

It was actually really kewl to see - albeit from afar, while he was out west - all that was happening for Shaun. I've remained happy for him, because both as a musician (everybody knows this - you'd have to be deaf or fucking daft) and as a person (what some just might not know) he deserves nothing less.

Don't leave without checking out his latest work... I don't know - the goddamned link is somewhere on this page...
Matter of fact, 9 out of 10, one of his songs is playing right now. Unless your browser is somehow screwed up.

Which MAYBE we can discuss some other time.

SHAUN HAGUE was born and raised in Massachusetts. Picking up a guitar at fourteen, he was named
"The Best Young Guitarist in New England" by The House of Blues only 3 years later.

Following his desire to perform, Shaun next moved to Los Angeles. At nineteen, he joined together
with another talented musician and formed the popular LA rock band, Fader. After touring up and
down the California music scene -and gaining a large following- Fader was given the title of
"The Best Unsigned Band in Los Angeles" by Gibson guitars in late 2004.

After departing from Fader, Shaun was quickly picked up by well know blues/rock guitarist
Kenny Wayne Shepherd to back him for his headlining cross country tour.
After being with Kenny Wayne for almost a year, he is now off tour and back home
on the east coast in Providence. After much persuading by fans of both Fader and Kenny Wayne,
Shaun has decided to pursue his much anticipated solo career.
