JT Spaulding was the only keyboard player that i remember them having at least from late 1981 and i know hw wrote the song Friends and the lyrics for most of the other songs. mike richards was there guitarist in the beginning before they started playing out. the original singer that i remember was "snake" and when she left in early 83 they got the lead singer from the tangent band - geri I am sorry i dont remember you but i did know that they had tryed out a few singers before they started playing out. last i heard bobby and soccer were doing a duo in clubs - joe stopped playing when he left - gary just retired - snake went off on her own - and jt went to a boston band that did really well in the mid to late 80's with 2 or 3 songs getting a lot of air time - then he disappeared --- rumor has it that he hooked up with the last cruizer lead singer (married her?) and built a house on an island and just gave it all up to fish and sit in the sun.... who knows!! but any way i thought you might like to know so that you could fix your site -- and you really should ask those guys before you use their songs -- i know jt was always touchy about that stuff!! good luck vincent a cooper __________________________________________________

Hello It's interesting that you say JT Spaulding wrote the song "Friends," because I specifically remember Bob saying that he wrote that - and most of the other material which they already had when I sang for them. This is all ancient history now, anyhow - and it's only there for that purpose - as a reflection on the past and because it is something that I was part of for a short while. And Harvey Cataldo was MOST DEFINITELY in the band - as their keyboardist. I ought to know that, because I hung around with him and his brother, Ronny, while I was singing with them - a lot more than I did with anyone else in the band. As far as including any of the sound clips on the site, I didn't realize that anyone out there would get pissy about it. And the web site DOES SPECIFY that THEY wrote it. Frankly, they were an ok group of guys to be around at the time, but let's just say that I wasn't too satisfied from a musical standpoint. I'll gladly REMOVE the sound clips from the web site. I don't remember you, either - so I guess we're even (haha) Thanks for reminding me of the last names. I still have the lyric sheets of all of the stuff that Bobby had given me, but he didn't have his name on any of them. I couldn't remember for the life of me what his and his brother's last name were at first, but when "Moss" came to me I thought for sure that was it. And I guess I mixed up Gary's last name with someone else I used to know at some point, too - so, thanks about that ... I forget Mark's last name, too - but I think I know who you are talking about. I may have jammed with him and Joe Cornell more than a few times. The guy I'm thinking of was also from Mansfield. Mark Doiron was his name, I think. He may even also have played for that band you mentioned, Tangent, for a while. Anyhow, thanks for the info - and I certainly didn't include sound bytes there in order to try and claim credit for writing the songs or anything like that - just to take a trip down memory lane, that's ALL .. Be well ... Al Tavers |
