FOREVER REMEMBER
this day in History ...

2001 - Both towers of the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan, in the heart of New York City, are deliberately struck by 2 separate hijacked AMERICAN commercial airliners during the morning rush hour, leveling both skyscrapers as well as several surrounding buildings, and killing thousands of innocent American citizens just reporting for work there.

Another hijacked commercial airliner strikes the Pentagon building in Washington, D.C., destroying an entire wing and killing hundreds of personnel working there.

A FOURTH hijacked commercial airliner crashes in rural Pennsylvania, with experts contending at this time that it may have been headed for Camp David in order to wreck the same havoc there. If this theory is correct, the obvious intent would be to kill our political leaders, in effect disabling our government.

A special thanks goes out with all my heart, mind, and soul to 
Whispering Hawk (Matt Viana) - my new younger brother - 
and to Two Bears (Gordon Nemier), my new revered elder brother
for initiating me into the ways of the Native Americans - something which I have ALWAYS aspired to, and have waited for decades to happen ...

It just took the right people - FINALLY - to accept me into their 
tribal culture ...

It is an honor of the GREATEST caliber - especially to be initiated and to NOT be of Native American blood/ ancestry - one that these mere words - nor any others - cannot even begin to express ...

When I said this to them, Gordon said to me that it doesn't matter - that my heart, that my personality and my way of thinking and philosophical outlook on life are in the right place. This is one of the kewlest things that ANYONE has EVER said to me in this lifetime ...

They gave me the "Indian" name Laughing Elk - yeah, I'm always laughing and at least TRYING to have patience and to make light of things; and they said that the "Elk" part is because I take charge and protect the herd - both the "special needs" kids we work with and my fellow staff. 

SO KEWL ...

Another best friend of mine - Billy - one of my "little brothers" - made a gift of a brand new Prayer Pipe to me when I went to visit him up in Vermont a few months ago. Gordon and Matt came to my house and we did a ceremony to bless an area on my property as my special Sacred Space, and we also "broke in" the Prayer Pipe in this special ceremony.

It was one of the kewlest things that I have ever experienced ...

Watching both Gordon and Matt during this ceremony was almost like being in a movie - one of the more REALISTIC movies portraying the lives and dismal fate of the Native Americans, such as "Dances With Wolves..."

It was totally friggin' AWESOME - and SO inspiring ...
